Mar. 4th, 2007 11:14 amFor a couple of days Charlie has been saying Moa-nie. He's been saying it a lot and not using any sign to go with it. It was obvious he meant something by it, but we had no idea. The closest pronunciation we could match was money, but what year-and-a-half year old wants or even knows about money? Just now Charlie and George were in the nursery and I could hear him saying Moa-nie. Then George said Nemo! Remember the other day when I said he was calling his Nemo fish Mo? Well, he put it together, just backwards. He uses the same sign for fish and water and swim. He's been saying Moa-nie a lot at meal times and in the bath. I think we have a winner!! He's so funny.
They're also listening to a CD in there. One of the songs is Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes. This particular version they replace a word with a sound effect each time they repeat the song, so the second time through it's "*squeak*, shoulders, knees, and toes." By the end you have "*squeak,* *honk,* *trill,* and *bonk.* *squeak,* *honk,* *trill,* and *bonk.*" but they're saying the word "and." So it ends up sounding like the verse is just the word "and" repeated over and over with a lot of space in between. Charlie was singing "Han, Han... Han, Han..." in perfect time with the music. He's so funny.
Parenting is definitely wonderful, even on mornings when he spent an hour up in the middle of last night.
