half a week, in review

artisanal_xaraIt's been a fairly busy week, and we haven't got any packing done at all. That's ok, because we don't have any boxes, and we've struck out several times in the search for such.
On Saturday we went out to the new place to see our actual apartment and take some measurements. Every time we go there I'm less and less impressed, but I'm hoping it's just nerves or stress. The only big thing we noticed is that the huge window in the back room that was in the apartment we toured, and that is drawn on the floor plan is a tiny little window off in the corner of the room in our actual apartment. So my wonderful view of the park ain't so wonderful after all.
One thing that I love, that I hadn't noticed or thought about is that we'll have a kitchen window. I love kitchen windows! Even if my dinky kitchen is practically too small to cook in. We've been looking for a bar or island or such to put just outside the kitchen for extra counter and storage space. We'll probably have to hang a pot rack from the ceiling or something too.
It's got to be that I'm just a little panicked about moving, because when we first saw the apartment we Loved it. I'm going to assume that once we get the furniture in and get comfortable it's going to be fine.
Oh, yeah, and we start moving 2 weeks from today.
I started a new knitting project this week too. I'm knitting a Christmas stocking. It's awesome, and I'll post pictures when I get home from Thanksgiving. It's really almost finished already.
I guess we'll be leaving for my parents' pretty soon. We'll be back Friday or Saturday.
