Yesterday, a Recap:
Jun. 2nd, 2002 02:56 pmMy goodness, yesterday was a full day.
I got up a little late yesterday, checked LJ, and learned about
cheshire's car accident. George and I talked about it and decided that after lunch we should check on him and see if he wanted some company.
We went to lunch at Souper Salad, and had a very pleasant lunch sitting outside at one of their big umbrella tables. We were talking about how nice the day was, and I suggested that they come over to our place and we could all go swimming in the pool.
So they did! They went back to their house and got their swimsuits and came back to go swimming with us. We had a good time in the pool. The only mildly annoying part was the group of children. I'm all for kids having fun at the pool on a hot summer day. If there was only one pool, I wouldn't have held it against them, because they had every right to be there. But we have an indoor pool too.
( pool woes )
We had a really good time at the pool, despite the rude kids. It started thundering, and we decided to head back. About half way to the apartment, it started sprinkling rain. We got home and were drying off when it started pouring massive amounts of rain, and huge lightning and thunder were coming rapidly. Then I noticed that one of my plants had fallen off the porch rail and was down on the ground. I decided to run out and get it, thinking, I'm already wet, how bad could it be. Well, let me tell you, I got soaked. I wasn't that wet when I was in the swimming pool. My plant was pretty badly damaged, and I haven't yet gone to try to fix it.
So, partly because they didn't really want to drive home in the rain anyway, the Masons decided to stay and watch Harry Potter, which they hadn't seen yet. I slept through part of it, but managed to watch most.
Then, around 8.30 they left, and we finally had a chance to catch up with
cheshire to see how he was doing. We ended up going over to his place and hanging out until 4.30 am.
gorski and Shawn came over too. I was wearing my Stokes Navier t-shirt, and Gorski, George and I spent a long time trying to work it out. I think we did a pretty good job of at least decyphering all they symbols. We went and got some sodas and snacks at the store, and stayed up playing a very amusing game all night. Much fun was had by all. I hope we helped Ryan take his mind off the very unpleasant events of the day. I think we did.
Monday we're gong to go pick Ryan up and take him to get a rental car, among other things.
