We finally managed to see Serendipity yesterday. It was cute. It's not often that we see a romantic comedy, especially in a theater. It was an interesting experience.

I can't figure out how George decided which movies he likes. He really liked this one, but most romantic movies we see he hates.

There's a big beautiful hawk sitting in a tree 50 (?) yards from my porch. At first I thought it might be an owl, but I got the binoculars and looked at it and it's definitely got the face of a hawk. It's back is toward me, but it's been looking around so I got a nice profile view of it.

I first saw it when I looked out my window from my desk and saw it directly in front of me, between here and the road.

Wow, what a sight!

In other news, I'm having lunch with Stacy on Thursday. Gosh, it's amazing how much I worried about it, then how easy it was once I finally decided to do it.

I'VE GOT A NEW FRIEND!
I wanted to take a picture of the hawk. So I broke out the binoculars and the digicam and went outside. I took one pic just using the camera but the hawk is tiny and hard to find in the trees and background. Taking a picture through the binoculars isn't nearly as easy an using either device separately. I could get a picture through the contraption, but I couldn't aim at anything specific holding the camera to the lens. Maybe if I had a tripod for the binoc's and wasn't trying to hold the binoc's in one hand and the cam in the other hand.

I did get to see the hawk fly away. I almost missed it while I was messing with the camera. It's ok that he left tho, because the light's getting low, and I don't think I'd have gotten my aim right even in good lighting anyway.

I wonder why my first hawk post is here twice...

GET CULTURE ESSAY!

Somebody remind me (repeatedly) to get my culture essay ready before Thursday. (responding to this post sends me an email, so that's good reminding)
mmmm. peanut butter milkshakes.

Class went ok tonight. I actually picked up some java tonight, I think. I'm not entirely sure I know how much java is different from C++ tho. I guess I'll just have to start coding and see what happens.
