Beautiful Evening
Jun. 16th, 2002 09:48 pmIt's been a lovely evening. I was pretty grumpy for a large part of today. There were a few reasons, but we don't need to go into them. I knitted for a while, and made a swatch from the yarn I'm getting ready to make a hat with. The swatch is very big, and I'm thinking I'll use it as a potholder/trivet sort of thing.
Masons came over, and after the guys went to the gym for a while, everyone came back, and we went out for Father's day.
Mmmmm Kanki. Oh my goodness, that stuff is heaven. It's such a pleasure to go and just enjoy the place. We had a wonderful time. Jim really enjoyed it, which is the point of Father's Day after all. Stuart even got into the family spirit and enjoyed the company and the food. Stuart is not usualy a big fan of hanging out with his parents, so this was an extra special treat for Jim and Verna to have him willingly with us actually enjoying himself and his family. I had Habachi chicken, which was, as always heaven. George had some kind of steak. The chef was very excited because he asked for it "as rare as you can make it!" The chef really approved of this, and seemed to think George was awesome for it. George, in turn, was very pleased with the way his meat turned out. Everything was so good, and so much fun. I'm pleasantly stuffed. :) The phrase "fat and happy" makes so much sense to me right now. :) Everyone left in wonderful moods, and I'm pleased that my grumpy mood didn't carry through and ruin our evening.
I've tried calling my dad a few times today, but I can't seem to get through. I don't know if the phone lines are out, or if I just happen to keep calling when they're on the phone, but I've gotten a busy signal each time I've tried. I sent him an email, just in case I can't get through in a few minutes.
