Nick at the Harrisburg office says that Earthlink is providing adequate service. All our problems are because of the websites, not Earthlink. It's of no relevance that we can get to the sites with modem.

I asked to speak to a supervisor. She's currently on the phone. She'll be happy to call me back sometime today. I guess we're not going out after all.

I've got stuff to do today, I don't have time to sit around all day and wait for Diedra to call me back.

GRRR!

Anyone out there who's looking or a new ISP, I Strongly suggest you stay away from Earthlink.

FWIW, I highly recommend speakeasy (http://www.speakeasy.net/refer/25292) for DSL service. They're extremely clueful, understand GNU/Linux, and I've had zero complaints with them. I initially signed up with them in Berkeley, and am still with them now that I'm in Cambridge.

Unfortunately they don't have a POP in Raleigh, so your traffic would probably go through their NYC POP. Like Earthlink, they use Covad, so switching would be fairly easy.

Unfortunately Covad's nearist installation is over 5 miles away, so they only support IDSL for about 3 times the cost. Genuity is the ADSL provider in this area.

Now for a complete lack of options, the nearist Time Warner cable is about 2 miles away, our 'cable' comes over the 18" dish on the roof, so RoadRunner isn't even an option.
