I tried to go for a little gardening today. It's hard to do when you're planning to grow everything from seeds, and you don't have the seeds. I shouldn't have agreed to order them. I'm sure I could have found seeds that would have done fine in some store locally.

I did manage to clean off the porch, and put out most of the indoor plants. I think I'm keeping one of the spider plants in this year. It's got its own pretty plant stand. I guess I could take the whole plant stand outside, but that doesn't seem like much fun.

I want to go out and get some plants from Lowes or somewhere for the pots that aren't going to have seeds. I might want some bigger pots for the morning glories and moon flowers anyway, and more dirt. It won't cost too much. Dirt's cheap, and plastic window box planters are too.

Now I just gotta convince George...

I don't know if you've ever grown morning glories, but "bigger pots" is definitely the operative word. Lots of them, and often. MGs grow like some sort of mint-kudzu hybrid, it's just insane! I got to the point where I stopped buying bigger pots and started building bigger trellises. ;) I love them, though.

The last time I grew morning glories was with my Granny in her yard when I was about 6. George asked me today what I needed bigger pots for, and I just laughed.

I've been thinking about putting some of those carpenter desires I've been having into building trellises. My mom had a neat article about how to build them out of bamboo.
